National Rail Museum Delhi (India)
National Rail Museum unique museum has a fascinating and exotic collection of over 100 real size exhibits of Indian Railways. Static and working models, signaling equipment, antique furniture, historical photographs, and related literature etc. The line-up of old coaches includes the handsome Prince of Wales Saloon that is built in 1875. But not to be outdone is the Maharaja of Mysore's Saloon built in 1899 with its brocade-covered chairs and an elegant rosewood bed; one can peer in through the windows for a good look.
The star attraction here is the Fairy Queen that is built in 1855 and considered to be one of the best-preserved steam locomotive engines of her age. A ride in joy train and monorail (PSMT) is the most exciting experience besides boating. Do not miss the handsome Fire Engine on your way out.

These locomotives were either built in York, or they just ran on its railways. The legendary engine of Mallard continues to maintain the record as the fastest steam locomotive. You can step aboard on any of these famous trains and feel the experience. Another locomotive that you can take a seat on is the Bullet Train. By taking the everyday explainer tour, and you will be more abreast with these incredible locomotives in the museum. The royal trains include the carriage that was exclusively used by Queen Victoria. You will get to explore the comfort of the Victorian travel as well as the gold, satins, and silk of the favorite carriage of Queen Victoria. One can see what type of rakes were used during earlier days of railways. Each rake has the information listed about it. Also, there is maharani's suite/rake kept in a building. There is also a small train available where kids will enjoy. It's very close to Mysuru Junction still a .very peaceful place.
