the Government Museum. Managed by the Archeological Survey of India, the museum is situated inside the Akbar's Palace and has precious sculptures, pre-historic sections, inscriptions, miniature paintings, arms and armor and objects of art and crafts. Housing an extensive collection of metallic objects, stone sculptures, coins, inscriptions, there are also items of terracotta along with local art & craft. The museum is well divided into different parts where each item is tastefully showcased. However, the main attraction here is the Gallery Museum that showcases a specimen of miniature paintings on leaves of various trees like Peepal, Mica or ancient litho paper. The armament section of the museum exhibits an excellent collection of old guns used by the ‘Rajas’ and ‘Maharajas’ of Ajmer. A collection of miniature cannons from the 18th century called ‘Chaddra’ are a major attraction. It is believed that these cannons were used Maharaja Sawai Jawahar Singh in the battle, which is in two sets of eleven each.

Ajmer Government Museum also known as 'Magazine', is situated inside the historical 16th century Akbar’s fort in Ajmer. In October 1908, under the initiative of Lord Curzon and Sir John Marshall, it was established by the Central British Administration as a provincial museum of Rajputana. Pandit Gauri Shankar Hirachand Ojha was the first Superintendent of the museum. It's established with the purpose of to focus on the cultural heritage of the region and exhibits it.
