The mosaic strips were import from Britain and Italian masons were engage for laying the decorative flooring. Massive pillar built with fine-hewn and well-decent grey stone support the gallery and the whole edifice. The cover of the church is made sound-proof by means of hollow sponge material and has an inspiring style of vaulting. The bell-tower is 175 ft (53 m) high and visible from few miles.

About Medak Church

Medak Cathedral is the largest church in entire Asia and second largest on the planet after Vatican. The Cathedral implicit Gothic style was initiate in 1914 and over in 1924. HISTORY

Medak Church is situated in Medak town of Andhra Pradesh. The church belongs to the Diocese of Medak and is a cathedral for the same since 1947. The church was built by the Methodist Christians of India and was established in the year 1924 by Reverend Charles Walker Prosnett who was a follower of the motto ‘My best for my Lord’. Ever since its sanctification, millions of Christians from all over the world have visit the church. It also has the difference of being the biggest church in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The church has been built on the line of the Gothic Revival Style and has a cathedral that is about 100 ft in width and 200 ft in length. The cathedral is so vast that it can accommodate 5,000 public at any given time. The church boast of mosaic strips that were specially imported from Britain in six distinct colors. The flooring work in the church was approved out by Italian masons who were from Bombay. The stained glass windows depicting Nativity, Crucifixion and Ascension from Christ's life is a charming aspect of the church.
