Parshuram kund is a Hindu pilgrimage centre located at Telu Shati/Tailung area of Mishmi plateau in the minor reach of the Lohit River, about 48 km by means of Tohangam from Tezu, the head office of Lohit area in Arunachal Pradesh. hills district comprising Mishmi inhabited areas. It is a famous holy place of worship which is steep in Hinduism and is much established by them. It fall within the Kamlang reserve forest and is surrounded by dense forest. According to Hindu reliance, the sage Parshuram, on the advice of a few sage is said to have wander all over the Himalayan range to atone for the sin of matricide initiated by his father. The axe that was stuck to his hand fell away cleave the mountain that sprang the Brahmakund.
But a steady stream of pilgrims continued to arrive to make offerings to the new monastery and to Thupten Rinpoche, with one group traveling three days from their teacher’s birthplace in Bhutan. They brought offerings of butter, rice, and money, and performed traditional songs and dances for Thupten Rinpoche and the other monks into the late hours of the night, with the temple lights shining brightly and the melodies of Bhutanese folk songs floating over the Dirang valley.

The holy pond is regarding 21 km away from Tezu and is devoted to sage Parshuram. It is supposed that taking a dip in the holy water of this lake cleanse one from their sin. Therefore, hundreds of devotee from Nepal and across India come here to take a dip on the day of Makar Sankranti in January. It is record that over 70,000 devotee and sage take holy dip its water.
Parshuram Kund is situated in the Lohit area of Arunachal Pradesh. It is a divine Hindu pilgrimage site. Dedicated to the revered sage, Parsuram, it attracts a lot of believer due to its sacred significance and an epic mythological story with many version. Parshuram Kund is packed with company during the month of January due to Makara Sankranti. It is expected that around 70,000 devotee visit Parsuram Kund every year during the festival to take a dip in the Lohit River. An annual fair takes place during the festival. People can also go on a short trek from Tezu to Glow Lake, this trek take around a day. Other than that, people can also enjoy angling as well as river rafting in the gurgling Lohit River. Parshuram Kund is well-linked via transportation, but there is no direct railway system recognized for Parsuram Kund. But there are abundance of cab services available to make your journey smooth.
