Surang Tila Temple
Surang Tila Temple stands unique for its amazing structure. It is a huge triple pyramid structure made of white stones with a platform of about 30-35 feet height.There are around 8 small temples once you reach the top of the platform and most of them are devoted to Lord Shiva.For people interested in the history of the place, and some mystery, it is a perfect place to be visited.The entire structure is made up of bricks and the carvings just take your breath away. The top of the sanctum door frame contains an exquisitely carved reclining Vishnu on Sesha. The vertical part of the door frame contains the ten avatars of Vishnu.

Interesting facts about Surang Tila Temple
This historic temple remains are in Sirpur, 100 kms from Raipur. The road is in good condition except for the bridge being built on Mahanadi on the way. This Surang Tila is old Shiva temple and the remains are placed on top.
There are three tantric temples dedicated to Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva. The main gate of the Surang Tila temple is believed to have existed near an adjacent river.

Surang Tila originally a temple and is located in Sirpur, in the Mahasamund District of Chhattisgarh, India. The Surang Tila established by Mahasivagupta Balarjuna during the 7th Century AD, is constructed in the panchayatan style of Temple architecture. It has a main temple in the centre containing five sanctums and four other sanctums at each of its corners. Four of the samctums in the main temple, each has a Shivalinga of a different colour (black, yellow, red and white) for worship. The fifth one has an idol of Lord Ganesha. These five sanctums are held by a thirty two pillared mandapa. There are three tantric temples dedicated to Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva.
