The Harmandir Takht is dedicated to the 10th Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh, who was born in the region in 1666. It is one of the holiest of the five takhts/seats of authority of the Sikhs.
Along with the Gurudwara, Patna Sahib also boasts of many eye soothing sites located nearby. Mangal Talab is a large pond near the Gurudwara, fenced from all sides. “Guru ke Baag,” a well maintained garden is also placed nearby.

Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib Ji, Patna Sahib also known as Harmandirji is a Sikh religious site - Gurudwara - located in Harmandir Gali. It is in one of the old quaters of Patna in Bihar. Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib Ji, Patna Sahib is one of the holiest Gurudwaras. Takht Patna Sahib spreads and reminds of Sikh Gurus' teachings. Takht Sri Harimandir Sahib – the principal shrine at Patna Sahib and one of the five Takhts or the highest seats of religious authority for the Sikhs, marks the site of the Chhoti Sangat. This sacred place has the honour of being visited by the first Guru Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji and the Patna Sahib 9th Guru Sri Tegh Bahadur ji.Harmandirji is the birth place of Tenth Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh. A shrine has been constructed in his memroy. It is also said that this gurudwara was visited by first Guru Sri Gurunanak Devji and 9th Guru Shri Guru Tegbhadurji, hence this gurudwara has immense popularity and respect.
